The Hound got lose again, she loves to run and run and run! The problem was we were headed to the vet’s office, she was scheduled to get spayed. By the time we caught her, I am sure she let us catch her, it was too late for her to make her appointment. While we were trying to catch her we saw something off in the near distance that looked like an abandoned, collapsed house. We made a mental note to investigate on another day.
That day was today. It was almost a letdown, no abandoned house or other building, just an old refrigerator, patio swing and umbrella, two broken toilets, and some other junk. Basically just trash. It did lead us to a very nice potential campsite.
The Campsite
Most of the trash is on top of a big sort of flat round rock. We could build a deck that is even with the top of the rock and a deck on the other side of the rock covering the sloping portion of the rock. The first deck would be for a walled canvas tent. The rock and other deck would be for the picnic table, chairs, outdoor cooking area, and fire pit. This is the fourth place I have found that I think would be a great place to camp. Probably my second choice, of the four.
The Rock Campsite – Before
Our first up-close visit to the campsite.
We didn’t know what this stuff was. From where we parked it looked like a collapsed house or other building.

Side note, the wild roses were terrible!

The Bulk of the Trash
Two toilets and a refrigerator.
A nice place to sit.
No cushions, but still a little comfortable.
Nice lens flare!
There’s a flat-screen television hiding in the glare.
Another chair, with Cedar Run in the background.
The dreaded question or thought!
Is there a dead body in there?
Rocket is ready to explore more and wondering why we have been here for so long.
Cedar Run is down there, I promise.
Looking towards the highway, can not see it. That’s good.
Benny exploring with us, wild roses don’t slow him down.
Abandoned House?
The photo does not look the same as being there. It really did look like a partially collapsed house at first. Now that I have been up to it and saw what it is, whenever I see it I can see what it really is.
